Sealing masonry

Sealing

For healthy living, Swiss Renovation guarantees you carefree and durable waterproofing of your property!

Only those who recognize the cause can find an effective solution.

In most cases, this is due to moisture penetrating from the outside.

The water gets into the masonry and rises up the walls via fine cavities.

As an expert, Swiss Renovation GmbH will provide you with professional advice on the various waterproofing methods.

Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.

Sealing

Is your building a little older or is the waterproofing damaged?

No problem! With proven systems Swiss Renovation offers durable and ecological protection against pressing water and rising damp.

Permanently intact buildings thanks to tight and dry walls

Waterproofing is used to protect structural installations or parts of buildings from moisture penetration, as freedom from defects and service life depend to a large extent on tightness. Effective waterproofing can now be achieved using many systems and modern technologies.

The cause:

  • Capillary rising damp

  • Moisture penetrating from the side

Information on

In the masonry, for example in the cellar, the ground moisture can rise up to max. 9m and soak the masonry from the inside. In the center of the wall there is a higher transillumination than in the areas near the surface. In addition to moisture, salts that are harmful to building materials also enter the masonry, which evaporate and lead to plaster flaking.

This can also be prevented subsequently by the horizontal barrier.

As soon as the basement waterproofing is not fully in place, the components of the basement come into contact with the damp soil.

Depending on weather conditions and soil quality, the soil contains a certain amount of water.

Without optimum basement waterproofing, this can penetrate the masonry unhindered. A distinction is made between ground moisture, accumulating seepage water and pressing water.

Subsequent sealing is therefore possible so that moisture damage can be prevented as quickly as possible.

If the moisture penetrates vertically via the wall surfaces in the area in contact with the ground, the external waterproofing is not functional or not present. Reliable sealing is essential here.

External waterproofing is one of the most important types of basement waterproofing and is considered to be particularly safe. The moisture penetrates laterally via the area in contact with the ground into the exterior cellar walls. The damage can be recognized by discolouration on the interior walls, flaking plaster or, in the worst case, mould growth.

Here too, defective or unused external waterproofing can be the cause, which is why Swiss Renovation protects the masonry permanently and professionally against moisture. Subsequent application of external waterproofing is particularly recommended here.

No matter how well they are built, nothing lasts forever, and this also applies to masonry. Over time, cracks form through which moisture can penetrate. It is advisable to take action here and dry out the walls and floors and seal them sustainably.

The external seal provides effective protection against the effects of external water. It includes all precautions intended to prevent the destructive effects on the building fabric. Tightness plays a major role in the durability and usability of a building. The external waterproofing of wall elements in contact with the ground provides the vertical waterproofing of a building with mineral, plastic-modified or bituminous materials to prevent damage to the building fabric and usability.

Internal waterproofing is an alternative to vertical external wall waterproofing in areas in contact with the ground, where this cannot be carried out for structural reasons, for example.

The damaged masonry is often not freely accessible due to overbuilding or neighboring buildings. It is therefore advisable to carry out internal sealing in order to achieve the optimum result and prevent moisture in the wall.

If you have a garden in your property, it will be spared and remain in its original state.

Crack injection involves filling cracks in reinforced concrete structures.

Moisture ingress in cracks leads to significant corrosion damage, which damages the reinforcement in the concrete and thus jeopardizes the stability and durability of a building.

As soon as the waterproofing is complete, the restoration plaster supports the drying phase of the masonry.

The multi-layer plaster system prevents the masonry that has already been worked on from decomposing any further.
